We have been working very hard here at 100 Point Challenge, and are very excited to be offering challenges in our second Swedish city, Gothenburg! So if you are looking for an activity for a company kick-off, your summer team-building event or a great way to discover Gothenburg as a tourist, we can help!
We have three challenges available, all named after Gothenburg locals. The lovely actor Alicia Vikander (a local GBG’er) is the namesake of our tourist level challenge, Alicia’s Adventure. If you are wanting to get to know Gothenburg for the first time, and want a fun alternative to your traditional walking tour, this is the challenge for you.
As we are a photo-based activity, it seemed fitting to have Victor Hassalblad as our icon for our intermediate level challenge, Hassalblad’s Hunt. The Hassalblad family established its first trading company, F.W. Hasselblad & Co, in Gothenburg in 1840, and pioneered camera design in the early 1900s. This hunt is for our more experienced GBGers, including expats and Swedes from all over the country.
For our most advanced challenge, we took inspiration from a well-known local phrase- “Everyone is named Glenn in Gothenburg”. This phrase started in 1982, when an amazing 4 out of 17 players (25%!) on the Göteborg IFK football team were named Glenn! So if you are born-and-bred in Göteberg, or even just a die-hard fan, this is the challenge for you. Especially if your name happens to be Glenn!
We will also have two lovely new staff members, Sara and Ellen, leading our challenges and team-building activities! Sara is what you might call a Gothenburg-expert, and works for the Gothenburg Tourist Centre as her day job. Ellen is a Gothenburg local who is currently studying at Göteborgs Universitet, and is excited to show people the cosy, friendly side of her city.
So if you are wanting to learn some more about this surprising and interesting city, find yourself a group of friends, family or work colleagues for a team-building activity and book a challenge- it’s you vs the city!
All challenges are available in Swedish or English.
